Apparently fearing a U.S. strike,
over 10 training camps in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Federally
Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) have been closed temporarily and trainee
militants have moved to different areas, highly placed intelligence sources
said here on Saturday.
"As many as 12 militant training
camps belonging to the Hizb-ulMujahideen (HM), the Harkat-ul-Mujahideen
(HUM), the Harkatul-Jehadi Islami (HUJI), the Tehreek-e-Jehadi-Islami (TEJI),
the Muslim Mujahideen and the Jeis-e-Mohammad (JEM) were closed down temporarily
in the PoK and FATA, bordering Afghanistan", sources said.
While all the camps have been closed
"temporarily" in PoK and the militants have moved to different places,
militants in FATA camps and the Pakistan-Afghanistan border belt have shifted
to Afghanistan, the sources said.
Most mercenaries, particularly from
Afghanistan, have also shifted to Kabul to fight on the Taliban side in
the event of a U.S strike.
The sources said the pro-Pakistan,
Lashker-e-Toiba (LET) have sent a highly trained batch of over 500 militants
to Jalalabad to help the Taliban, the sources added. In addition, militants
currently active in Jammu and Kashmir have been asked to "lie low" by their
headquarters from Pakistan and Afghanistan, the sources said, adding that
several instructions of such nature have been intercepted by security forces
in Doda, Rajouri and Poonch districts of the Jammu region.
The intercepts of cross-border militants
conversations revealed that Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI) have directed
their chiefs to stop activities in Jammu and Kashmir for the time being,
they added.
Pakistan ka sawal hai. Thodi der
kay liye sab kooch bund karo. Aap bhi tayar raho... Aur agar America Afghanistan
pur attack karta hai to hum sab ko jawab dena hai. Kashmiri ladkoo ko bhi
tayar karo is kay liye, these were some of the intercepts. (PTI)
