Mori opinion poll

Mori, a leading UK pollster, conducted a survey in Jammu and Kashmir in April 2002. Commissioned by the Friends of Kashmir, a London-based group, the survey covered 850 people in the state.

54 per cent thought that human rights abuse by Indian security forces was nonexistent while 27 per cent believed it was widespread.

Only 10 per cent thought the presence of foreign militants had helped the Kashmir cause while 65 per cent did not.
