A chilling videotape surfaced yesterday
showing Sept. 11 hijackers attending a wedding of one of their co-conspirators
- and using the occasion to spout religious rhetoric justifying the murders
to come.
The tape released by lawyers representing
the families of 9/11 victims shows the wedding reception of suspected plotter
Said Bahaji at the Al-Quads Mosque in Hamburg, Germany, in October 1999.
In attendance are a bearded Marwan
al-Shehhi, leader of the hijack crew of United Flight 175, which crashed
into the World Trade Center's south tower, and Ziad Jarrah, one of the
hijackers of United Flight 93, which crashed into a field in Pennsylvania.
Also present was Ramzi Binalshibh,
a key al Qaeda planner arrested in Pakistan, who gave a scary sermon hinting
the 9/ 11 plot was under way.
He speaks out about Israel and America
and talks about the duty of Muslims to carry out jihad - or holy war -
against these countries.
And then he says cryptically: "We
are still in Arabic class and at the end of the class, there will be a
test and the test is the meal, God willing. There will be those who pass
and those who fail."
"This tape shows that this group,
the Hamburg cell, were a close-knit group working together as far back
as two years before the attacks," Michael Elsner, one of the lawyers representing
the 9/11 victims' families told The Post.
