BEd student killed by mistake

A BEd student was stabbed to death and three others seriously injured by the family members of a constable, who assumed that they had teased the policeman's married daughter. The students were trying to reason with the attackers when they were stabbed.

BEd student, Adicherla Srinivas, a topper throughout his life, died on the spot, S Satish, G Markendeya and K Mahender are battling for their lives at the MGM Hospital. All four are students of St Peter's College of Education, Ramnagar locality here. The incident took place late on Friday night. Police said the family members of Armed Reserve constable Allah Baksh first attacked Rajavardhan, Gopi and Krishna Murthy with knives, swords and sticks.

The students ran into the room in which Srinivas and his friends were staying. Srinivas and the three others went out to pacify the attackers but were attacked instead and Srinivas fell on the spot. The trio hail from Pedda Kalvala in Peddapally mandal in Karimnagar district. Mahender is a resident of Bala Samudram area, here.

"He told me that he was coming home on Sunday, as his final exam was over on Thursday and that he would prepare for the DSC test, we all were confident that he would be a teacher soon," said Srinivas's brother Satyanarayana. The Subedari police took into custody Allah Baksh, his wife, and their daughter Mirza Shabana Begum. Others arrested are Md Shaukatullah Baig, Khaza Pasha, Md Zakir and Shabana's husband Md Haziz.
