Nagalakshmi (35) wife of Pastor Paul Murugesh (42) hanged herself unable to bear the torture and pressure of her husband to get converted to Christianity.  Paul Murugesh from Samayanallur, running an orphanage, loved and married Nagalakshmi about 17 years ago.  They have two sons. He has been torturing her on suspicion of her morality.  He has been pressurising her to convert to Christianity, but she did not yield. When the pressure became unbearable, she hanged herself.  Acting on a complaint from her mother that only due to the harassment by Paul Murugesh, she had committed suicide and that he was responsible for the death of Nagalakshmi and that action should be taken against him, Murugesh was arrested.

In another complaint filed by Maheswari, her sister, she has alleged that he has forced her another elder widowed sister with 4 children to convert to Christianity stating that her 4 children will be admitted free into a hostel.  He is engaged in such conversions for which he gets lot of money from abroad.  She has alleged how one who has no education and no work could have such a lot of money  and that this should be investigated.   He is now planning to leave for Malaya with the photos as proof of the conversions made by him.  The complaint asks for confiscation of his passport.

In an earlier complaint by a social worker that he is instigating communal problems, he was arrested and released on bail.
