An activist of the banned outfit
Deendar Anjuman was arrested by the west zone task force team from his
house in Udgir of Latur district in Maharashtra on Monday.
The police seized Deendar literature,
slogans against Christians in the name of Viswa Hindu Parishad and photographs
of Deendar Anjuman chief Zia-ul-Hassan.
The arrested man, identified as
Shaik Moinuddin, 56, a resident of Asifnagar, is absconding since the serial
blasts at various religious places in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Goa
in 2000, according to city police commissioner R P Singh. The police said
Moinuddin visited Pakistan on three occasions and was the main person in
dealing with financial transactions meant for subversive activities of
Deendar Anjuman.
He also organised passports, visas,
and money for Deendar Anjuman youth to go to Pakistan on the pretext of
visiting their relatives and Hazrath Zia-ul-Hassan and undergo arms training
at Mardan in Pakistan.
Police inquiries revealed that Moinuddin
is a close associate of Zia-ul- Hassan and a member of the core group involved
in a conspiracy to create hatred among communities by desecrating of Ambedkar
statues in 1994-95.
