The unfurling of the Pakistani flag
atop a religious place in Aterna village of Sonepat district in Haryana
has caused tension in the area, official sources said on Monday.
The situation became tense after
villagers discovered that the Pakistani flag was hoisted by some people
atop the place of worship on August 14, which is that country's Independence
Day, they said.
The flag was seized by the police
after the matter was reported to them by the locals on Sunday, the sources
said. Patrol has been intensified in the area to ward off any untoward
incident, the sources said, adding that investigations were on, but no
arrests have been made so far.
Meanwhile, BJP activists raised
anti-Pakistan slogans in the area and demanded arrest of those involved
in the act.
