A Hindu girl is being held in illegal
detention in Pakistan and her life could be in danger, parliament has been
informed.
Gyan Singh, a member of the Pakistan
National Assembly (NA), has submitted a call attention notice against "the
threat to the life of the 14-year old girl and the subsequent reluctance
of the police to register a case against the accused," Daily Times reported
on Saturday.
The report did not say where the
victim, identified as Kaiko Mai, was being held.
"Singh, who is a representative
of the minority community and executive member of the Parliamentarians
Commission for Human Rights, wants to bring the story to the floor of the
NA.
"Kaiko Mai was a house maid at the
residence of Haji Ramzan. She was sexually assaulted by Nadeem, a frequent
guest of Haji Ramzan. Haji Ramzan has taken Kaiko Mai hostage and is threatening
to end the girl's life," the newspaper said.
The victim's plight was brought
to Gyan Singh's notice by her uncle, identified only as Kalval jee.
