Barely two months after serial rapist
Akku Yadav was lynched in a Nagpur court, two extortionists have met with
the same fate at the hands of village women who were reportedly inspired
by the Akku episode. The incident occurred in Kharbi near Nagpur on Monday.
Brothers Naeem Nizam Khan Pathan
and Fahim Nizam Khan Pathan used to sell electricity to villagers illegally
as Kharbi has no electric supply. The villagers were regularly terrorised
for payments.
On Monday morning, Naeem threatened
Dilip Kumar Parte and his widowed sister Laxmi. Parte had refused to buy
power from Naeem. When Laxmi confronted him, Naeem threatened to return
with help. Laxmi then mobilised the village women.
In the evening when Naeem and Fahim
reportedly attacked Dilip and Laxmi, they were lynched by the women here.
So far, the police have made no
arrests. SP (rural) Bhushan Kumar Upadhyay said the duo had no criminal
record. However, a resident claims to have lodged a complaint against them.
Laxmi, meanwhile, has gone back on her own confession saying she has never
heard of Akku Yadav.
