Thoughts on issues of current interest, including instances of some double standards of our public figures, especially in the construction of Hindusthani identity (all those Macaulayan myths, and the hypocrisy that is Nehruvian secularism) - Krishen Kak

Much has been made of a visit recently to Hindusthan of a VVVIP (at least so he was made out to be by our Nehruvian-secular dispensation). This VVVIP was the Saudi Arabian king, and we were educated about the political and economic advantage to us of this grand panjandrum's patronage.

Now this monarch of his Koranic kindom - yes, by its Basic Law it is the fief of the al-Saud family - has its flag the Islamic green, with imprinted on it that fundamental and defining tenet of Islam, the shahada (there is no god but Allah, and Mohammad is his prophet) and, to make sure you get the point, below this is depicted an unsheathed sword. The naked Sword of Islam symbolizes the historical reality of this worldview, and it is personified today in Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud whose petrodollars fuel jihad worldwide.

The potentate, as a condition of his visit to our darul harb, required omission of a visit by him to the samadhi of the the so-called Father of the Nation - and his reason was that such homage would have been against his religion (he also required that he be received personally by our prime minister, but that's another story). Nehruvian secularists not only tamely gave in but, with their usual double standard, then criticized a Hindu political leader for not visiting Jinnah's mausoleum in Pakistan ( http://www.hindu.com/2006/02/10/stories/2006021005151100.htm ).

It is no secret that, in Saudi Arabia, the display of any non-Islamic religious symbol or observance of any non-Islamic religious ritual is strictly forbidden on pain of arrest and punishment. No Hindu is allowed to pay respects to that Islamic idol, the Kaaba, and to kiss its sacred Black Stone. For a Hindu to venture into Muslim sacred space merits death. The worth of one Hindu male is 1/16th and of a Hindu female 1/33rd that of a Muslim. This is the worldview that Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud enforces in his own domain and towards the worldwide achievement of which he fearlessly fires through his petrodollars. If there is to be identified the root resource of jihad the world over, it is the Koranic kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Yet we do a dandvat pranam before this Muslim desert despot who devises our destruction, even as we undermine in Nepal the world's only remaining Hindu monarchy.

By his disregard (in which Nehruvian secularism willingly acquiesced) of the Rajghat samadhi, he showed Koranic contempt for and taught a Koranic lesson to his fellow-believers in our own country. The symbols of our nation are irrelevant to Islam - what matter (and should matter) to the true believer are the shahada and the sword that enforces it. And daily we are reminded of this by the Islamic faithful in our land, witness the All India Muslim Personal Law Board emphatically disowning Art 44 of the Constiution of India, declaring that a uniform civil code is "against the spirit of Islam", and that the only personal law acceptable to Muslims is the immutable Koranic law.( http://www.hindu.com/2006/02/02/stories/2006020203470900.htm ) - of which we can see Saudi Arabia as the exemplar.

More recently arose a wave of Muslim violence against some political cartoons of a gentleman they call Mohammad. In countries all over the world, Muslim mobs called for Christian heads.; the Taliban announced a bounty in gold of 100 kgs for killing the cartoonist - http://dailypioneer.com/archives2/default12.asp?main_variable=WORLD&file_name=wld5%2Etxt&counter_img=5&phy_path_it=D%3A%5Cdailypioneer%5Carchives2%5Cfeb1006 ); non-Muslim embassies were torched by Muslims; Islamic States supported the violent reaction, with at least Iran and Pakistan enforcing economic sanctions (The Hindu, Feb 5 & 11, 2006); the Pakistan Parliament condemned the cartoons; and so did the UN Secretary General.

Not to be left behind, Delhi's Jamia Millia Islamia students rioted; huge crowds of Muslims in different cities in India brought civic life to a halt because halfway across the world some human had made secular fun of another human who'd died over a thousand years ago; the J&K chief minister (always a Muslim) joined in the condemnation and called on the Government of India to protest ( http://dailypioneer.com/archives2/default12.asp?main_variable=STATES&file_name=state5%2Etxt&counter_img=5&phy_path_it=D%3A%5Cdailypioneer%5Carchives2%5Cfeb706 ); and Delhi's Shahi Imam criticized the absence of open condemnation by the Indian government.(even as he fatuously claimed "Muslims were peace-loving and against all forms of violence" - The Hindu, Feb 11, 2006). Predictably, to assuage this mullah, our Nehruvian-secular government within 24 hours reiterated a statement it had issued months earlier ( http://www.hindu.com/2006/02/12/stories/2006021214680100.htm ).

Predictably too, in all this there is a good deal of hypocrisy - and politics. No mullah objected when Syrian television portrayed Jewish holy men as cannibals ( http://www.hindu.com/2006/02/03/stories/2006020304301400.htm ). Islam has a long and accepted tradition of pictures of Mohammad ( see http://www.zombietime.com/mohammed_image_archive/ , in which too you can see the 12 original cartoons). These cartoons had been published months earlier in Egypt and by an Egyptian paper - - "and not a single squeak of outrage was present". To these 12, Danish imams themselves added three obviously fake pictures that they then circulated in the Muslim world. ( http://egyptiansandmonkey.blogspot.com/2006/02/boycott-egypt.html ). Why did they publicize the latter as newspaper ones, when emphatically they were not? Who concocted these fakes, obviously to foment trouble? Isn't the inference obvious?*

No mullah objected when our own faux Picasso, that much-acclaimed MF Husain, expressed his creative genius by painting our divinities in the nude. And, of divinities, note that he paints naked only Hindu divinities. And not just in the nude - he has a naked Sita on the thigh of a naked Ravana; a naked Sita on the tail of a naked Hanuman, the tail curving up between her thighs; Durga in pelvic union with her vahana; Ganesha's head doubling as the pelvis of a naked Lakshmi; and more.* * These were published by that well-known patron of the arts, Tata Iron & Steel Co. Ltd; introduced by its then chairman, the eminent Russi Mody; and the text is by that erudite indophile, Dr Daniel Herwitz. The same MF Husain painted a naked Bharatmata for auction by Nehruvian-secular Nafisa Ali's Action India's "Mission Kashmir" ( http://www.actionindiatrust.org/mnews%20auction.htm ). Husain also painted Hitler naked, and openly equated such naked representation with the devil (V'mala 75). So, for us pagans, isn't the inference again obvious?

Nehruvian secularists have lauded these evil depictions of our gods and goddesses and of our motherland as aesthetic and defended them as freedom of expression. But not one of them has dared likewise defend the Mohammad cartoons - even though they are of a fully-clothed human. No crowds gathering in protest, no mobs chanting for death to Husain, no bounty on his head, no statement by the Indian government, and no resolution by the Indian Parliament that condemns such a flagrant violation of the worldview of the overwhelming majority of the Hindusthanis. On the contrary, the Nehruvian-secular Indian State honours this Husain with a Padma Shri, a Padma Bhushan, and a Padma Vibhushan. What's next for this smutty old man? The Bharat Ratna?

What connects Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud and MF Husain in their arrogance to what we pagans consider sacred? Read for youirself the Koran, and see for yourself the hate it teaches of the pagan.***

Understand that the Koran is Allah's Word - immutable, irrefutable, and eternal.

Never forget the worldwide pagan historical experience of Islam. Everywhere it has conquered, it has wiped out paganism. Islam declares its objective - that the whole world be Muslim. And steadily, over the centuries, practising sama, dana, bheda, danda, mainly danda, it wars to this end.

Remember Kashmir. Muslim rule of the Valley began in the mid-14th century. In the early 15th century, Sultan Sikandar Butshikan reduced the number of non-Muslims there to 11 families. With ups and downs, but inexorably, Islam continued its "Mission Kashmir" till, now, in practice (and with the connivance and consent of Nehruvian secularism), the wellspring of our pagan civilization (V'mala 53) is a darul islam.

Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud wields the Sword of Islam. Indeed, the royal standard has the shahada and not one naked sword but three, making clear the ruler's bellicosity for his faith. No one doubts that this al-Sauds is a true Muslim. Therefore, believe him only when his flags depict ploughshares instead of swords. Believe him only when he extends to Hindus in his kingdom the same rights Muslims have in Hindusthan. He will never do so. Believe MF Husain only when he paints Islamic divinities in the same manner that he does Hindu ones. He will never do so.

Ask yourself why. I challenge you to come up with a "secular" answer.

Till then, sure, deal with the al-Sauds of the world, but you trust them at our peril.
