The recent report in a section of media on
the unearthing of a "Jihadi Training Camp" in the jungles of Dharwad
& Uthara Kannada districts of Karnataka might have been a shocking surprise
to the people of India in general and the people of South India in particular.
But, for those who have been closely watching and analyzing the concept of
Jihad and the spread & growth of Islamic Terrorism in India, it is not
at all a surprise and seems to be only the tip of the iceberg. The old notion
that "the southern part of the country is a haven of peace" has
turned out to be a "myth" now. There are two solid advantages in
South India for the Jihadi elements. Firstly, the BJP is very weak and the
Hindu organizations like RSS and VHP do not have a wider network, as strong
as in North India. Secondly, all the political parties (Congress, Dravidian
Parties, Communists, Janatha Dal and Telugu Desam Party) are pseudo-secular
and appeasers & supporters of Minorities. With these two advantages, the
Jihadi elements have been able to spread their wings, establish training camps
and improve their communication network with Maoists, Naxals and even LTTE.
It is an open secret that the NDF (National
Development Front) has been unleashing terror in Kerala right from day one.
This organization is alleged to have been involved in the murdering of many
cadres belonging to RSS, BJP & other Hindu Organisations, with the support
of CPM goondas and their student wings DYFI & SFI. Both the then Congress
government & the present Communist government have miserably failed to
check the violence & terror unleashed by NDF. With the recent release
of Abdul Nazar Madhani, leader of PDP in the Coimbatore blast case, the NDF
has become stronger and is continuing its terror acts with gumption and ease.
The rousing reception given to Madhani, when he came back from jail, by the
Congress and Communists has also emboldened this organization to unleash violence
in the state. This organization is alleged to receive huge funds from Gulf
countries to conduct its operations. It is reported in Kerala media that,
Pan Indian & South Asian terror groups are operating across the state.
It is believed that, after the banning of SIMI & ISS (Islamic Seva Sangh),
theterrorists belonging to those outfits changed their name & operate
as National Development Front and Peoples Democratic Party.
Similarly, the Manitha Neethi Pasarai (MNP)
has been very active in Coimbatore & Theni districts of Tamil Nadu. Some
time in May 2006, a few MNP activists were arrested in Coimbatore for plotting
to murder a Hindu activist and to plant bombs in crowded areas. MNP also indulges
in conversion and is conducting classes in the name of 'Arivagam' in Theni,
to brain wash new converts especially Scheduled Castes, train them and recruit
them in to Jihad squads, as reported by the well known columnist Ms. Jaya
Menon in the 'Indian Express' dated 26th July 2006. the disturbing factor
is that, both Theni & Coimbatore are close to Kerala borders and hence
MNPcan easily coordinate with NDF. When SIMI was banned, its TN Unit changed
its name as Tamilaga Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam (TMMK) and when Tamil Nadu government
banned 'Al Umma' after the Coimbatore serial blasts; the outfit is alleged
to have changed its name as Manitha Neethi Pasarai (MNP) and continued its
shady activities. Previously, it was SIMI & AU and now, it is TMMK &
MNP. Only the names are different, but the activities remain the same. In
December 2006, the Jihadis belonging to these groups have murdered Kumar Pandian,
Hindu Munnani activist in Thenkasi and the TMMK president of Tenkasi, Sait
Khan survived the retaliation. After a few days the militants attacked Pandian's
brother and he sustained grievous injuries. Again on 14th August TMMK activists
attacked Hindu Munnani cadres and murdered three of them (all brothers of
Manoj Pandian). In the retaliation three Jihadis also got killed. Ten days
back, on the 25th of January, the Jihadis tried to blast RSS office at Thirunelveli
and they also murdered a BJP local leader Raj Pandian. Recently on the eve
of Gujarat Chief Minister Mr.Modi's visit, the TMMK General Secretary Hyder
Ali issued an open threat saying, "Modi would not get back to Gujarat,
alive"! Ironically, the TMMK enjoys the support of the ruling DPA alliance.
Likewise, the KFD (Karnataka for Dignity)
has also spread its tentacles through out Karnataka to the extent of conducting
Jihadi Training Camp. Their growth was first indicated by the violence, which
they unleashed in Bangalore early last year, in the name of protests against
Iraq President Saddam Hussain's hanging. It was reported last years itself
that this organization is aiding & abetting the terrorists from organizations
like LeT in executing their missions like the attack on the Indian Institute
of Science Bangalore. This has been proved now! These militants are also responsible
for the murder of Sukhanand Shetty, BJP Taluk President in Mangalore last
year. The vehicle used by these militants in that operation was bearing a
TN registration number, which points to the fact that KFD is connected with
MNP. Also, the entire coastal belt from Calicut in Kerala to Karwar in Karnataka
seems to be under the control of Islamic militants, which points to the coordination
between KFD & NDF.
With regards to Andhra Pradesh, the strength
of the Muslim organizations is an open secret and the twin cities of Hyderabad
& Secunderabad have born thebrunt of terror & violence many times
in the past, the recent ones being the Mecca Masjid Blasts and the Twin Blasts
in Lumbini Park & Gokul Chat Eatery. The AIMIM in Hyderabad is also alleged
to have been helping the Jihadi elements imported from Pakisdtan & Bangladesh.
The Pakistani ISI & Bangladeshi Huji hav made inroads deep inside Andhra
Pradesh and developed close contacts with the naxalite outfits and has formed
many 'sleeper cells', as per media reports.
All these Islamic Outfits have joined and
formed a new outfit called Popular Front of India (PFI), which was launched
on 16th February 2007 in Bangalore. As per the 'Q' Branch Police of Tamil
Nadu, the decision to launch Popular Front of India (PFI) has been taken at
a conference of KFD, MNP & NDF held on 22nd November 2006 at Calicut.
The leaders of PFIinclude K.M.Shareef, President of KFD, Gulam Muhammed, leader
of MNP and Abdur Rahman Baqari of NDF and they have decided to confine their
activities to South India. The PFI was launched in the guise of coordinating
& strengthening grass root level developmental activities through out
thecountry. Though they have announced their agenda as Democracy & Social
Service, the Police feel that they may propagate their fundamental and hardliner
ideologies. One dangerous aspect in PFI is that the majority of the leaders
in this new front are erstwhile office bearers of SIMI. There have been no
reports from the police or intelligence agencies and even from the media regarding
the activities of all these outfits after the formation of PFI in February
2007. It is almost after one full year, we have come across the detecting
of a Jihadi Training Camp and incidentally, in all the four states, the rulers
are Muslim Appeasers (Congress in AP, Commies in Kerala, DMK in TN and till
recently JD(S) in Karnataka).
Apart from targeting innocent people, Temples,
Hindu organizations and their leaders, these terror outfits have also threatened
to attack Vidan Sabhas, IT Majors, MNCs and even nuclear installations. So,
it is the duty & responsibility of the concerned state governments and
the Central government to ensure that the terrorists are crushed with iron
hands, so that, the people live in peace!
