Appreciation and recognition for the woman
constable from Ollur police station, Aparna, who offered her three gold bangles
for releasing a dead body from a hospital, are flowing from other states with
one of the leading jewellery shops in Kolkata deciding to present her four
gold bangles.
Aparna will also be one among the few dignitaries
at the award distribution function of the P C Chandra Group scheduled to be
held in April next year.
Aparna will be honoured at the function where
outstanding achievers in the country will be awarded by the group.
The 32-year-old woman constable was assigned
the duty to remove the body of Usha from a private hospital to the Thrissur
Medical College for postmortem.
Chandran, husband of the deceased, was unable
to release the body due to shortage of money.
Usha succumbed to the injuries after four
days of treatment at a private hospital.
The hospital authorities insisted Chandran
to pay Rs 55,000 as treatment expense before releasing the body.
Following intervention of the Ollur police,
the hospital authorities reduced the amount to Rs 20,000, but Chandran was
unable to pay the amount at the moment.
Witnessing the plight of Chandran, Aparna
offered her three bangles to him to pledge it and pay the hospital fee. Chandran
pledged the bangles and released the body.
But, Chandran later managed to give her back
the pledged bangles.

and a memento at the founder's day of the group. We are Email
Print approaching the state government to provide permission to Aparna to
