Sixty-six special trains will connect Puri
with different corners of Orissa on the occasion of the Rath Yatra this year.
Special trains will run to and from Puri connecting Koraput, Rourkela, Baripada,
Keonjhar, Brahmapur, Bhadrak, Angul, Dhenkanal, Paradeep, Bhubaneswar and
Khurda Road.
ECoR has made special efforts to connect Koraput,
Keonjhar, Baripada and Rourkela with Puri for Rath Yatra for the first time
this year. Special trains will also run from Visakhapatnam and Palasa of Andhara
Pradesh, Raipur of Chhattisgarh and Khargpur of West Bengal. The timetable
of the special trains has already been prepared and the media is helping the
masses know about them.
Special trains are being planned not only
for Gundicha Yatra day but also for Sandhya Darshan, Sunabesha and Bahuda
Days.
In order to have more trains available for
such occasions, a number of empty coaches are being kept ready at Puri.
