All illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in India should be detected and deported back to their country immediately, demanded the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. “The illegal Bangladeshi immigrants are the forces behind the turmoil in Assam and elsewhere in the North-East. They have been included in the voters list of many States and it is these illegal migrants who determine who should rule India,” Dattatrya Hosaballe, RSS spokesman, said here on Friday.

He was briefing reporters on the sidelines of the three-day National Executive of the RSS which began on Friday in a Chennai suburb.

The Assam Accord, signed on August 15, 1985, between then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and the All Assam Students Union (AASU) has been flopped because the then Union Government failed to implement the accord. “The uninterrupted illegal immigration has changed the demography of the entire North-East. This will result in the total disintegration of the region,” warned Hosaballe.

The RSS spokesman said both Pakistan and Bangladesh are theocratic States. “They have declared themselves as Islamic Republics where no other religions are welcome. Hence the illegal immigrants infiltrate into India with ulterior motives and not as refugees. But the Hindu immigrants crossing over to India from these countries deserve the status of refugees,” he said. Hosaballe reminded all that granting of refugee status to Hindu immigrants was agreed upon by the political leadership of India long back. “The Hindus all over the world consider India as their home because this is a secular country,” he said.

The National Executive of the RSS has given paramount importance to the serious issue of illegal Islamic immigration which according to the organisation would have far reaching consequences to the secular fabric of India. He said the RSS would exert pressure on the Government to detect and deport the illegal immigrants from India.

Another serious issue which the Sangh conclave would brainstorm would be the security of the country. “India’s security and defence preparedness are not satisfactory. At no point of time in the history of the country the defence preparedness has been found to be so weak and fragile. Though the RSS appreciates the good work being done by the scientists of the Defence Research and Development Organisations and other establishments, the same could not be said about the defence forces and the political leadership. The Indian leadership has been  found wanting in its preparations and planning to meet the threat posed by China,” he said.

The RSS leaders said security experts all over the world have warned about plans by China  to establish supremacy  over  Asia. “But the Indian political leadership is indifferent to the warnings. They have forgotten that China had waged an unexpected war on India in 1962 which saw the massacre of thousands of Indian soldiers. The RSS would strive hard to create an awareness among the country’s youth about the evil machinations and intentions of China,” he said.

He said the National Executive would also finalise  the programmes to be launched all over the country as part of the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. All top brasses of the RSS including Mohan Bhagawat, Parveen Togadia and Ashok Singhal are attending the conclave being held in a fortified Ashram.
