#Lucknow #Uttar Pradesh News that a crucial diary was found during raids at Noida chief engineer Yadav Singh's house has created panic among UP bureaucrats and politicians.

The officials have so far refused to divulge the diary's contents, however it is believed that the diary, which is written in code, has details of kickbacks and may turn spotlight on many important people in the state, says a report in Times of India.

Officials also think, once deciphered, the details in the diary could reveal a larger nexus between bureaucrats, politicians, contractors and businessmen in getting commissions for construction contracts.

Sources from the IT department said that documents on land allotments that took place in the last four to five years will be sought from the Noida Authority. This will including documents for the period of Mayawati's regime. Reportedly, Singh enjoyed considerable influence during the time when BSP was in power.

Singh, had been named in a Rs 954 crore scam over handing out of contracts and was suspended in 2012. He was however reinstated in 2013. Just a fortnight ago, he was appointed the chief engineer of Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway Development Authority.
