There is increasing evidence to show that the Pakistan boat which sailed into Indian waters was no ordinary fishing boat.

The four members on the boat who blew themselves up on the boat were not fishermen and the manner in which they behaved was extremely suspicious, investigations have revealed.

Four men behaviour suspicious:

The coast guard commander of the North West Region Kuldip Singh told the media that the four men did not look like fishermen. They were not smugglers either the commander confirmed.

Singh also pointed out that the four men were wearing t-shirts and half pants.‎ Further Singh said that the probe is being handled by multiple agencies and they will get to the bottom of the matter.

NTRO inputs:

The National Technical Research Organisation which picked up the intercept confirmed that the men on the boat were in constant touch with a man in Karachi. Whether this man was a handler or part of the establishment in Pakistan is something that we are ascertaining.

However the chatter picked up did not in anyway suggest that these four men were out on a fishing expedition. If it was a case of diesel smuggling why was there so much conversation.

The conversation was constant and there were minute to minute details being shared the NTRO intercept also suggested. However it has also been confirmed that there was just one boat and not two as suggested by some media outlets.

Search operations on:
Meanwhile search operations are still on. The entire coast of India has been placed on high alert as agencies‎ piece together evidence. The search team is looking for debris and possible clues which may give them further information on the boat.

The agencies also suspect that this could have been either a dry run or an attempt to divert attention. The possibility of Pakistan trying to send in another boat is also not ruled out.
