In few pockets of the left wing extremism affected areas of the country, the Maoists had recently observed 50th Anniversary of Naxalbari movement, which originated in May 1967. Deep inside the jungles of Bastar the Maoist leaders were desperately trying to hold meetings in order to propagate what they had achieved in the last 50 years.
Of course they had lot many solid achievemnts to showcause including that of brutal killings of more than 28000 innocent civilians in an attempt to establish Mao's evil belief that power flows out from barrel of the gun. To their credit the Naxals had damaged public property worth of thousands of crores rupees and there by ensuring the tribal heartland areas remain undeveloped and unconnected.
The Maoists had been successful in denying the local tribal boys and girls an opportunity for good education by demolishing hundreds of school and ashram buildings and there by depriving them an opportunity for a better future.
They had been successful in preventing the tribal men and women from access to basic health services. They also could successfully deprive the local population from the comforts and necessity of technological advancements, basic communication and banking facilities.
Had the Maoist leaders and cadres were courageous enough to answer the questions of the local masses during the events they organised to celebrate the self claimed glorious fifty years of their violent, destructive and atrocious movement, they would have been bombarded with volleys of queries. And for sure they and their urban think tank won't be able to find an answer to one simple question What have the Maoists achieved in the last fifty years to celebrate ? |
