A plan of an alleged Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI) agent to blackmail a lady Colonel of the Indian Army by threatening to share her morphed obscene pictures on the social media after she rejected to reveal sensitive defense-related information failed as police arrested him from North Delhi’s Chandni Mahal following the officer’s complaint.

The Delhi Police said on Monday they are looking for three more spies who were working with the arrested accused, identified as Mohammed Pervez, who was held on September 13.

Police got to know about the blackmailing when the Colonel, who stays in South-West Delhi’s Dwarka, complained to them that she was getting calls from two unknown numbers and messages from a Facebook profile being operated by one Ikta Sharma.

The Colonel told police that she got morphed obscene  photos of her on her WhatsApp number and messages from the two numbers and Facebook ID of Ikta from August 8 to first week of September.

The Army officer said she also got threat calls from the same numbers saying that if she didn’t interact with the

caller, her “obscene” pictures and personal information would be released on the social media.

“When the victim blocked both the numbers, the accused sent the morphed obscene pictures to the daughter of the Colonel through Facebook ID Ikta,” said a police officer.

After receiving the complaint, police swung into action and on the basis of technical analysis, the accused was arrested and jointly interrogated by personnel of Dwarka South Police Station and the Delhi Police Special Cell.

The case has been transferred to the Anti-terror Unit by Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik.

During interrogation, police said it was revealed that accused Pervez is an ISI agent; and he wanted to gather confidential information from the Colonel. The accused has supplied some secret information pertaining to security of India to the ISI, said police.

“The accused has also provided SIM cards to one Naushad, who is working as a visa counsellor in the Pakistan High Commission in Chanakyapuri in Delhi. Besides, the accused also provided SIM cards to his aides Munzaal, Bilal and Khalid, all of whom are Pakistanis and are currently absconding,” said the police source, adding , “We will approach the Pakistan High Commission and efforts are on to arrest the rest of them and recover all the incriminating materials.”

The police official said, “After arresting the accused, a case was registered against him under section 123 (concealing with intent to facilitate design to wage war) of the Indian Penal Code, along with sections 66 E, 67 of the Information Technology Act and sections of stalking, criminal intimidation and outraging a woman’s modesty were also added.”
