Hindu Hate Watch’s weekly tracker reveals a disturbing escalation in targeted hostility, documenting 89 incidents of anti-Hindu hate within just seven days. Spanning physical attacks, desecration of religious sites, coercive conversions, and online abuse, the data points to a growing pattern of systematic targeting that demands urgent attention
For decades, Organiser has remained the unwavering voice of the nation, consistently documenting ground realities that are often ignored, diluted, or deliberately sidelined in mainstream discourse. Staying true to its legacy of nationalist journalism, Organiser has once again tracked and documented a disturbing pattern of anti-Hindu incidents unfolding across the subcontinent, ensuring that voices of victims, silenced communities, and desecrated faiths are neither forgotten nor misrepresented.
Over the past week, from December 29, 2025, to January 4, 2026, several distressing incidents have unfolded across India and Pakistan, highlighting a worrying trend of attacks on Hindu communities, religious property, and women. The incidents range from temple desecrations and forced religious conversions to targeted assaults, abductions, and online provocations. These events have provoked public outrage, prompted police action, and intensified calls for stricter protection of religious minorities and vulnerable communities.
Many of these incidents occurred under circumstances that exploited religious, social, and economic vulnerabilities. In India, a series of cases involved Hindu women and minor girls being lured, harassed, or coerced into religious conversion, often through deceit, inducements, emotional manipulation, or direct threats. Simultaneously, temples and sacred symbols were deliberately targeted, triggering protests and raising serious questions about law enforcement preparedness and deterrence.
The pattern of hostility also extended into the digital space, where derogatory, blasphemous, and inflammatory content targeting Hindu deities circulated freely on social media platforms, aggravating communal tensions and normalising hate. Authorities across multiple states responded with FIRs, arrests, and probes; however, challenges remain in identifying networks behind such acts and ensuring time-bound justice.
The detailed incidents recorded between December 29, 2025, and January 4, 2026, as documented by Organiser, present not isolated events but a troubling continuum that demands urgent policy attention, legal accountability, and national introspection.

The attackers, supporters of ex-TMC leader Humayun Kabir, held the journalists hostage at the site, attempted to tie Shandilya with plastic pipes, and looted equipment worth %4 lakh, including cameras and microphones. Some of the violent encounter was captured on video and circulated on social media.
Police intervened and rescued the journalists, though authorities reportedly instructed them to leave the area immediately to avoid further attacks, recovering only part of the stolen equipment. According to Shandilya, the mob’s actions were planned, with the duo leaving behind crucial footage documenting the illegal construction. The incident triggered outrage from political parties, including the BJP, which criticised the state administration for failing to protect the journalists.
The attack occurred in the context of Humayun Kabir's declared intention to build a Babri Masjid replica in Beldanga, Murshidabad, coinciding with the anniversary of the original Babri Masjid demolition in Ayodhya. The original structure had been built by Mughal ruler Babur over a pre-existing Ram temple, leading to decades of social, cultural, and legal disputes resolved in 2019 by the Supreme Court of India, which affirmed the Ram Janmabhoomi site for the construction of the Ram Mandir. Kabir's efforts to replicate the mosque in Murshidabad were seen as a direct affront to Hindu identity, inflaming communal tensions in a district with a 70% Muslim population and a history of anti-Hindu violence.
This case has been documented as a religiously motivated hate crime under the category “Attack not resulting in death” and subcategory “Attacked for Hindu identity.” The assault on Shandilya and Mishra was rooted in their Hindu identity and their reporting on the Babri Masjid replica, reflecting clear anti-Hindu animosity. Hindu religious sentiments were outraged after a leftist-Ambedkarite woman shared a derogatory and offensive image of Lord Ram, one of the most revered deities in Hinduism, on social media on January 1, 2026. The incident occurred in India and quickly drew widespread criticism after the post went viral on X, formerly Twitter.
The accused, identified as Dr Ankita, who operates the X handle @AnkitaGiggles, shared an Al-generated image depicting Lord Ram as an accused person standing in a courtroom with folded hands in a posture suggesting submission and guilt before Dr B. R. Ambedkar. The image was accompanied by the caption “Guilty,” implying that the Hindu deity was a criminal being judged and punished. The post was uploaded at around 11:06 a.m. and garnered nearly 4.25 lakh views within a short span, triggering intense backlash from Hindu users across social media platforms. Many users described the image as a deliberate and malicious attack on Hindu religious beliefs, accusing the woman of mocking and humiliating a deity held sacred by millions. Lord Ram is widely revered as Maryada Purushottam, the embodiment of righteousness, dharma, and moral conduct, and is central to Hindu spiritual and cultural identity. Critics argued that portraying him as a criminal in a courtroom was not artistic expression or satire, but a calculated attempt to insult Hindu iconography and provoke religious sentiments.
The outrage intensified as users pointed out that the image combined ideological symbolism with religious mockery by positioning Dr B. R. Ambedkar as a figure of judgment over a Hindu deity. Many alleged that the post reflected ideological hostility toward Hinduism rather than any legitimate social critique. The caption “Guilty” was widely condemned as hate speech aimed at vilifying Hindu faith and portraying its revered figures as morally culpable.
45. Hindu Village Torched, Homes and Temple Demolished by Muslim Landlord in Sindh, Pakistan
A Hindu village was set ablaze, several homes were demolished, and a Hindu temple was destroyed in Nasarpur city of Matiari district in Pakistan's Sindh province on January 1, 2026, allegedly by a Muslim landlord, leaving the local Hindu community traumatised and displaced. According to media reports, the landlord went on a violent rampage, selectively targeting Hindu houses, tearing down structures, demolishing a temple, and setting the entire Hindu settlement on fire. A motorbike was also reportedly stolen during the attack, and threats were issued to members of the Hindu Kachhi community, further deepening fear and insecurity among residents.
The village had been home to the Hindu community for more than four decades and was known for its peaceful coexistence until the incident shattered their lives and sense of safety. Locals described the attack as deliberate and targeted, aimed solely at Hindus because of their religious identity. Following the destruction, affected families demanded justice, protection, and a thorough investigation, stressing that minority rights must be safeguarded and that religious tolerance is essential for social stability.
The incident underscores the broader and persistent persecution faced by Hindu minorities in Pakistan, where systemic discrimination, violence, and intimidation remain widespread. Hindu communities have long reported forced conversions, abductions of women and minor girls, vandalism and demolition of temples, misuse of blasphemy laws, and economic and social marginalisation. Many Hindu families are forced to flee their ancestral homes due to repeated threats and attacks, living under constant fear because of their faith.

According to reports, the incident occurred while the family, led by Mangal Meghwar, was working in their agricultural fields. Members of the Nohri community, identified as Hasan Nohri, Hussain Nohri, Ghulam Nohri, Somar Nohri, Mohsin, and others, allegedly confronted them and launched a violent assault using sticks and axes. Several women and children were injured during the attack. One Hindu woman suffered a serious facial injury after being struck with an axe, and Mangal Meghwar was also wounded.
In a video statement, Mangal Meghwar said the attackers were attempting to forcibly seize the family's farmland. Despite the family's poverty and the severity of the violence, no immediate help was provided by local authorities. Reports indicate that even after 24 hours, the Chhacharo police had neither visited the site nor registered a First Information Report, heightening fear and insecurity among the victims.
The attack has been widely viewed as part of the broader pattern of persecution faced by Hindu minorities in Pakistan. Hindu communities there frequently report mob violence, land seizures, temple vandalism, forced conversions, abductions of women and girls, and systemic neglect by authorities. These conditions have forced many Hindu families to live in constant fear or flee their homes altogether.

According to reports, masked gunmen entered his shop, physically assaulted him, and subjected him to torture. He sustained fractured arms, head injuries requiring stitches, and leg injuries. Shots were fired during the attack, but citizens intervened, forcing the attackers to flee. The victim was initially admitted to Hyderabad Civil Hospital and later transferred to a private hospital.

During a press conference at Hyderabad Press Club, he claimed that a town chairman was behind the attack. Despite filing complaints, the local police had not registered a First Information Report even three days after the incident, prompting him to appeal to the Chief Justice of Pakistan for protection and justice.
The attack fits into a broader pattern of religiously motivated violence against Hindus in Pakistan, including mob assaults, land seizures, forced conversions, temple desecration, and systemic neglect by authorities. Activists and vocal defenders of Hindu rights are frequently targeted to intimidate and silence the community.
Even though the exact identity of the attackers is unknown, the attack’s motivation is clearly rooted in anti-Hindu animosity.
